Ellen for the Cure

I just received this email and I'm not sure if we've run out of time to help, but it wouldn't hurt to try! "This month (October), Windows Mobile is supporting Ellen DeGeneres and her Ellen for the Cure campaign for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and we can help! In October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Windows Mobile is making a donation for every guest that Ellen dunks in the dunk tank on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. And for every visit to the Windows Mobile Let’s Make a Splash page Windows Mobile will make an additional donation to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure campaign. So please visit and help the Susan G. Komen Foundation in its fight against breast cancer."

Our Poor Baby

So many of you know we have a cranky baby on our hands. One that for the past two weeks could be the new face of Poltergeist. Not to mention her hypersensitivity to the absolute tiniest, minuscule mess in her diaper. (We go through AT LEAST one diaper an hour.) Anyway, I took her to the doctor today so we could find the root of these issues. And the doctor believes Elayna has three issues going on, one of which isn't related to why she's been so fussy. First, she might have GERD. It stands for gastroesophageal reflux disease. This is possibly the cause for Elayna's daily projectile vomit. Secondly, she could be lactose-intolerant, which might be the reason she freaks out each time she messes her diaper even in the slightest. Because she's not able to break down the lactose, her messes are very acidic and are literally burning her skin. This is also the reason she constantly has the start of a diaper rash. So those two reasons combined (GERD and lactose-intolerance) could be why we constantly have a crying baby (that's if she's not sleeping or eating, well yes even while she's eating). The third issue is that she has a heart murmur. We have an appointment next week to check that out. The doctor wasn't too concerned about any of these issues and said that they are all conditions which infants usually grow out of. So please keep Elayna (and us) in your prayers.

... FINALLY!

Okay, these aren't in any specific order... I need that time for the fam rather than perfecting the post.

Me, Elayna Vaye, and Diane outside of Madigan Hospital

Madigal Hospital

This is the view from Madigan's OB floor. You can barely make out Mount Rainier past the flag post. I'll have to take another picture when the sky isn't cloudy.

Yeah, I know this one's sideways. Don't wanna take the time to fix it.

I LOVE IT. She's been giving us these gummy grins for quite awhile and I never have been able to catch it on camera. Yesterday, she was giving them left and right.

She reminds me of a koala... except not so stinky. When you hold her, sometimes she'll wrap her arm around you.

Randy, EV, and Renee. This was typical the week they visited. Everyone had smiles except little Elayna.

This is Ron Roloff talking to Ryan. While Randy and Renee were here, we visited the Roloff Farm to get a pumpkin. We went on the tour and were able to browse through the western town. We spent the majority of the time speaking with Matt Roloff's parents, Ron & Peggy Roloff. They have a fascinating family history, with influences in American history and the military. There was also a camera crew at the western town and we were in some of their footage. Peggy and Molly informed us that some of the camera crew were from Paducah, Kentucky. After signing our releases, we headed home. About an hour into the drive, we get a call from Granny (who was staying at Randy & Renee's while they were out of town). She said Little People Big World's producer had called and wanted to know if we were still on the farm. He wanted to meet us! Oh well, maybe next time.

Someone was generous enough to loan us an umbrella when it started to rain during the tour.

Here's the family with Amy Roloff.

We're waiting in line for the tour, taking pictures and chowing down on kettlecorn (the good kind).

I was worried she would get cold... but she's looking pretty snug with her Daddy.

There were a few new attractions at the Roloff Farm since last year's visit. They added a second, scenic tour as well as an animal house (which had all types of small mammals and reptiles) and fun house. The fun house was under Sven's charge. He created all sorts of pumpkin people in their daily activities within the home. The last "room" was lit with black lights. It's Matt Roloff with his pumpkins.

We've just arrived on the farm.

Congratulations!!!!

Clint & Sara Howard have a baby girl! Sara had to have a c-section and Clint hasn't been able to post yet, but he will as soon as he can. I can tell you the little miss Morgan Faith checked in at 6lb 13oz and I think 19in. There were a few concerns during the whole procedure, Sara's in the ICU, but she and Morgan are doing much better and the doctor hopes to discharge them by this weekend. Keep an eye out on their blog for more information.

CONGRATULATIONS CLINT & SARA!

WELCOME MORGAN FAITH!

And I know, I KNOW, I need to post pics of our baby. I will as soon as I can!

I take it back...

... Jess & I have now joined the ranks of those on the receiving end of projectile vomit... Karma has a funny way of getting back at people.

We've been having a great time with Randy & Renee visiting. We went to the Roloff Farm yesterday, WHICH TOTALLY ROCKED. We had a lot of fun and saw the whole family. We took a few pictures, but I don't have time right now to post them (heh, go figure, Tanya!). Hopefully, soon there'll be a Roloff Farm post and I can share the day with you... minus a few hilarious details, which Renee would shoot me for if she knew I'd posted. So I'll just let you send inquiries her way.

Where does the time go?!

Here we have the Daddy, just after being poltergeist-ed. (It's happened about three times and not once to me. heh.)

She's striking a pose.

This is something new. She's learned how to suck her fingers. Sometimes it's the index, sometimes it's the thumb. And other times, she pulls a Mabry and sucks on two middle fingers. I love this pic.

This is my absolute favorite picture.

And we've been seeing a lot of this lately from both dogs.

We're going to the Roloff Farm tomorrow. (Little People Big World's pumpkin farm) So I stopped by Once Upon a Child and picked up this front pack. RYAN will be carrying our ten pound chunkster.

I caught him reading her a book last night.

Here we are waiting for Randy & Renee at the airport. I stood up to take a picture of my two favorite peeps, not realizing his parents were coming up on us... No, I take that back. In my peripheral vision, I saw a lady jumping up and down like a five-year-old on Christmas morning. That's what Ryan's smiling at.
