Olympic National Forest

Here are more pictures of David & Priscilla's WA trip. As soon as we get to the Olympic National Park, Ryan goes into stalker-killer mode.

Here he is, sneakily peeking out from behind David. There was a period of time when we lost Ryan and figured he was further along the trail. Oh no, he was hiding. So when we start taking random photos, he reveals himself.

Just a picture of the beautiful scenery we were able to hike in.

There were Hurricane Class 3 winds a few months ago that literally ripped trees out of the ground. David's standing next to one.

Here we are on the "World's Largest Spruce Tree."

Here it is in full view.

I love how ferns would grow in the funniest places. Even near Fort Lewis, there are ferns growing out of every little crevice of every rock and tree.

If you've been riding in Illinois with Priscilla, I don't even have to tell you what she was doing right here. I just let her have a moment... alone.

The trail was blocked because of debris from the devastating winds. Of course that's not going to stop us from seeing what lies beyond the "unsafe to pass this point" sign. Then we come to this and decide it's okay to turn around.

I don't know how he does it, but Ryan was able to find the woodpecker within .008 seconds of hearing its chirp.

David spent much of the hike clearing the trails of fallen trees.

Ryan had to help on occassion.

Look how big the trees and ferns are!!!

Yall remember Smokey?! This picture confused me for awhile. I thought it was Smokey with human hands in a suit. Then Ryan had to explain it was a man holding up a Smokey mask. Geesh, I might be getting pregnancy brain sooner than I expected.

This is Lake Cushman. We were trying to get to the Staircase Campground for a hike or two. But the roads were closed about four miles from camp... after the long, windy drive up the mountain, we had to turn around and go back down.

An infamous "honey bucket" (aka "porta-potty")
