Thank you to Alex for putting these pics on facebook!

Here she is!

Cora Lise Mabry
8:24am
8lbs 13oz and 19in.

Today! Today!

Just so we're clear, I did manage to get three hours of sleep before waking up with awful heartburn at 2am, at which point I went into panic mode that the house was not clean enough and I just HAD to do the laundry and pick up around the place and get a bath and then fold clothes and then stare at the food I can't eat and debate about waking Elayna up so we can have one last mama-only-daughter moment but change my mind in case she's up for the next hour before we leave and then finally resort to getting online.  Because isn't that supposed to be what you do when you've got time to kill?  Renee will be here in 45 minutes to keep Elayna while Ryan and I head to the hospital.  He wakes up in about 10 minutes, if he's not already from my bustling around the house.

I'm so excited and anxious at the same time.  Nervous about the surgery too.  I remind myself that I've been through it once already and we'll be fine.  But then I remember I was already heavily under the influence of drugs the last time I was even given the option of a cesarean.  (Jess, please censor any embarrassing, flashing comments you may have!)  While I'm happy our family is growing, I'm going to miss my only-child.  So please pray that she adjusts easily and is happy to be the big sister. (And that she doesn't try to cram crackers down Cora's throat while we're not looking-- purely because she wants to share, not because she's being mean.)

Time to move on!  Gotta finish packing and getting ready for the hospital.  Check back for some pics, whenever we get them posted.

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!

Anyone notice the Cora ticker to the right no longer counts days?  Only hours and minutes! and seconds.

I went in today for my pre-op labs and paperwork.  I have this nice little red hospital bracelet on to prove that I don't need anymore blood drawn in the immediate future.  And although I'm safe from needles for the moment, Elayna insists it's a hair "tie" and keeps attempting to remove it.

The plan is to go in tomorrow morning at 5:45 for my cesarean at 7:45.  I have no idea what happens in those two hours.  All I know is that I can't eat or drink anything after midnight tonight so I'm scarfing down as much food now while I can.  We're supposed to have wifi in the room, so we'll try to keep you all posted.  (Sorry Diane, I will not skype with you DURING the procedure or immediately after.)

Birthday Duo Soon to be Trio

Yes. That IS a tiara on Ryan. They're watching one of Elayna's favorite movies, Horton Hears A Hoo. What a cute birthday couple. (I'll be sure to put up some pics of elayna's party asap!)

Coloring Fun

Yep. It is what it looks like. Elayna is coloring my bulge with crayons. She thinks my belly button is some sort of portal to Cora and thinks she needs to be colored too.

Arr! Yar! Har!

Tell your friends!

I Love Sunchips.

However, they are NOT the chip to sneak a snack from when you want your toddler to sleep as long as possible.  Read this Wall Street Journal article.

Yes the bag's crazy loud.  But the chips inside are still crazy good delicious.

A Wonderful & Unexpected Surprise

Sunday morning's bulletin had a special invitation for everyone to enjoy pizza & cake in honor of Cora after evening service. A surprise baby shower! It is such a blessing to call Melber home and have so many amazingly kind, considerate, and generous brothers and sisters in Christ.

tick tock

I absolutely CANNOT wait until the "Cora Lise" countdown to the right, which currently looks like this:

Looks a little more like this:

I'm just saying.  It would be nice.

Bye Bye Noodle

Ever wonder what a 9 months preggers Gloria would look like on a horse?
These were our last minute last photos with Noodle before her new owner pulled up with a trailer.  It was an awfully hard decision to make, but she needs more attention than she is currently getting and would receive in the next few years.  Yesterday was a very sad sad day.  Good news is that I have an open invite to visit and ride her whenever I want.  Merry Christmas to me!

What a Foofoo

If this doesn't scream fashion statement, I don't know what else does. She just HAD to have not one but three hair bows AND a hair tie. Coordinate with feather slipper heels and we have a very girlie girl. This child cannot be mine.

$5 Memory Game

Right now Hobby Lobby has the perfect sale to make your own matching game. Scrapbook paper 50% off. Unfinished wood 30% off. (I already had the mod podge and sponge.)

It's pretty self-explanatory. Buy scrapbook paper with images small enough to fit on wooden tiles. Cut 'em out and mod podge to the tiles. Ten minutes later after the glue dries, you have a new stimulating game!

(Yep aunties, this is my Christmas craft for the boys. I know they may be a little young for memory games, but they can still play with the pictures!)

Hey Elayna,

"What do you think the weather is gonna be today?"
"Cow."

Because apparently that's possible. Look out folks. It's no longer raining cats & dogs. We've got cows.

The Pillow Peruser

I make the bed at least four hundred times a day because of this little gal who thinks it's oh so much fun to knock the pillows down, attempt to put them back, crawl into the cases & shams, make forts, rearrange 'em, or just plain destroy the make-up.

Oh yeah. Cheese it up, sister. You've been caught. And check out that bed-head.

GO BIG BLUE!!!

Guess what Elayna's gonna be for Halloween... And I'm thinking Cora can be a wildcat kitten. Anyone out there have a kitten costume tutorial? (Not to be cheesy, but I think it's adorable when siblings' costumes match.)

Success!

Why did I post a picture of my foot? To share my excitement! My shoes will still -kinda- fit! Granted I have cankles and the laces are stretched to the max, but I can still wear them. Which is more than I could say preggo at this point with Elayna.
